Food and drink in Brest, France
France is rightly renowned for its food and Brest, like all other French towns it seems, is an ideal place to eat and drink.
As a general rule, avoid the more obvious tourist restaurants and bars - you'll find better value (and higher quality) where the locals choose to eat.
Whether you're looking for a fine French wine, a breakfast croissant, a lunch croque monsieur (a particular favourite of your editor!) or a substantial evening meal, you won't have trouble finding something to suit.
The French people are always appreciative of attempts to speak their language and it's certainly advisable to brush up on your language skills before departing - that way, you can really make the most of your visit.
