Food and Drink in Moscow
You won't go hungry in Moscow!
The city now has many different types of international cuisine available - from Italian restaurants to curry houses. Standards of food can vary from one establishment to the next and it may be worth buying an up-to-date guide book before travelling, as restaurants can come and go quickly.
As far as drink goes, vodka is popular (as you might expect). The authorities have recently become concerned about vodka consumption levels and have been trying to persuade young Russians to drink beer, which is seen as a "safer" choice. The end result has been that beer is now extremely widely available.
Beer drinkers will find that the local brews are generally cheaper (and perfectly drinkable), although foreign beers are often available, albeit at a premium.
