The rise of the budget airlines has been great for air travel within Europe, with travellers from the UK reaping the benefits.

The latest carrier to announce incredibly cheap flights is Thomsonfly, who operate from a number of regional airports including Bournemouth.

At the time of writing they're offering large discounts on flights from the Dorset airport to a number of European destinations, including the Italian city of Pisa.

Thomson Fly are currently flying to Pisa in just over two hours, allowing you to experience the delights of the famous leaning tower, plus much more.

Our own reporter recently spent some time in Pisa and was pleasantly surprised by this university city, which benefits from being close to Florence (just an hour by train) and the lovely scenery of Tuscany.

So, whether you're looking for a fantastic weekend getaway, or somewhere to serve as a base for a longer stay in Italy, Pisa may well fit the bill!
