Flybe Flights to Amsterdam

Flybe, the UK's regional low cost airline, have recently announced that they will be increasing the number of cheap Flybe flights to Amsterdam.

From Autumn 2006 Flybe will be scheduling direct flights from Exeter Airport to Amsterdam, the Dutch capital. Initial indications from the carrier are that the cheapest flights will be priced at £29.99 per person (one way). That price looks pretty competitive when compared to rival airlines and consumers may prefer the ease of travelling from Exeter if they are based in the south-west.

It certainly seems that Flybe flights to Amsterdam will offer a good alternative to travelling to London, or even Bristol, to fly with other airlines.

It has been suggested that the introduction of the new route to Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport has mainly been brought about as a result of Exeter's business community pressing for regular, cheap scheduled flights from Exeter to Amsterdam. Whatever brought about the decision, it can surely only be good news for business travellers, holidaymakers and citybreakers alike.

The new route comes after concerns were earlier expressed about the seeming lack of popularity of the airline's route to Paris. It was thought that the failure of the Paris route to take off (excuse the pun!) might limit the company's ambitions to expand with Dutch routes. Flybe representatives have pointed out that they've seen improvements in usage of the Paris route and that they mainly feel that the earlier lack of take up was due to the flight times.
