Flying from Southampton Airport
Flying from Southampton Airport has never been easier. One of the UK's leading regional airports has seen a large increase in passenger numbers in recent years, due to large-scale investment at the Hampshire airport.
Flybe, an increasingly impressive player in the budget airline market, use Southampton as one of their main hubs, operating flights to France, Germany, Austria, Ireland and the rest of the UK.
The airport is well positioned for transport links, with its dedicated mainline railway station (Southampton Airport Parkway) offering regular services to London Waterloo. Once you arrive at the station you find that the airport terminal is just a short walk away.
For those preferring to travel to the airport by car, there are short stay and long stay car parking options available on the site. The short stay car park is located directly opposite the terminal building and is also used by those setting down or picking up passengers.
The long stay airport is a 5-minute drive from the airport terminal and is served by regular, free airport buses.
The airport terminal itself is relatively small when compared to other UK airports but does benefit from being able to process passengers rapidly. There are rarely long queues at check-in desks and, on returning from your holiday, passport checks and baggage reclaim are far less troublesome than at the major London airports.
