The best hotels for winter sun
Many of us like to escape the UK in the winter and take advantage of warmer weather that is still to be found elsewhere. The choice of where to flee in the winter can be tricky - we tend to want warm weather, great facilities and low costs. Striking the right balance can be tricky.
A recent report in The Times examined a number of hotel options and suggested that hotels located in Australia, Thailand, the Maldives, Tenerife, the Seychelles, Oman, St Lucia, Vietnam, Mozambique, Grenada, Egypt and Mauritius provide the best options for soaking up that summer sun.
Looking through that list, one of the most striking elements is that two of the locations might be considered to be more accessible and also more suited to a low budget than the others - both Tenerife and Egypt are really good options for sun lovers who would otherwise be having withdrawal symptoms in the depths of winter.
Many families are taking advantage of cheap flight prices in the winter months to spend Christmas and New Year in warmer locations. Being able to spend the festive season at the beach is now a real option for many and doesn't require an expensive trip to Australia.
Maybe now is the time to consider soaking up a bit of winter sun.
