Southampton International Airport is located on the outskirts of the city, close to Eastleigh. The airport is served by its own railway station (Southampton Airport Parkway), which has frequent connections to the city centre and to London Waterloo.

Although thought of as being a regional base, Southampton International Airport has grown rapidly in recent years. This growth has been helped by the emergence of low-cost, budget airlines.

Such airlines now mean that you can fly cheaply from Southampton to the likes of Paris, Dublin and Alicante.
