Stag Weekend in Riga
If you’re reading this article then you’ve most likely been invited on a stag weekend in Riga, or are planning such an event yourself? So what should you expect of this Baltic city? What is there to see and do? Most Importantly, where’s unmissable in terms of nightlife?
Firstly, what activities are available to help the weekend really go with a swing? Fortunately, Riga is really geared up for stag weekends and there is plenty on offer. These range from paintballing and shooting to bungee jumping and quad bikes. For those of you looking for something a bit more “individual”, you can also hire a chauffeur-driven limousine, complete with champagne all round and a couple of exotic dancers to keep you company.
Alternatively, how about a medieval banquet? In fact, you never need to go short of food in Riga. Other options include a traditional Latvian garlic dinner or a 3-course meal with your very own “beer tap” to ensure that you’re not thirsty!
Once again, you can always go that one step further: you can hire a room for a private banquet, with a 3-course dinner and 6 beautiful dancers.
If you’re looking for late-night watering holes then you won’t be disappointed. Many places stay open until the early hours, meaning that you can stock up on the local delicacy: Balzams. Balzams is a pretty hard-core local spirit – we’ve never seen it on the shelves of a UK off licence – it really has to be drunk to be believed!
Due to the numbers of people involved, if you are planning a stag weekend in Riga then it may be best to book using a specialist tour operator. This will work out more expensive than organising the whole trip independently, but you will probably gain more from having people on hand with local knowledge of the best venues and entertainment available in Riga. It also means that you don’t have to worry about the finer details of the weekend – all of that is dealt with by someone else, leaving you free to make the most of your time in the city.
